Guests reviews

“Elegance and charm"”
... This house is a renovated old house, originally part of the abbey complex. The door from the street opens into a beautiful small garden of green lawn and .flowers. The door to the guest rooms opens onto a spiral stone staircase. Our room, actually a spacious suite, was one floor up and absolutely beautiful, with high ceilings, and a beautiful front window that opens onto a shallow balcony. The furniture was lovely and comfortable, with oriental carpets and a large assortment of books, many on the local area. We slept well on the firm queen bed in a quiet neighborhood. The large bathroom and small adjacent toilet are fully modern. Ones sits in a deep tub for bathing or showering. Everything was kept perfectly clean, with fresh towels and glasses each day. we loved the daily breakfasts of fresh fruit, juice, yogurts, an assortment of croissants and breads, jams, and coffee or tea served in a colorful sunlit room and flowers on the table. Jean Michel is charming, professional, and speaks English well. He made us feel at home, loaned my husband a bike for free, and answered our innumerable questions...

"I wouldn't have changed a thing"
...We stayed in the suite for three nights and every single aspect of Logis Saint Mexme was perfect. Jean Michel and his wife live in what looks like a small castle, with a large yard situated just minutes from the center of Chinon. Some notes: -Every morning breakfast was prepared for us (homemade yogurt, fruit, fresh baguettes, granola, cereal, coffee, tea, etc.) -They both speak great English -They have two bikes they are willing to let you ride around town -Morning is really the only time we ever saw them. During the day when we were sitting in the yard it truly felt like our own home -Our final day fell on a holiday and it was too hard to catch a cab, so Jean Michel offered to drive us 45 minutes to a train station. We were blown away by their hospitality. If we ever return to France, this B&B in the small town of Chinon will be at the top of our list. ...

“Great Stay in Chinon!”
... We had a very nice stay! Jean Michel spoke excellent English and steered us to all the same “best” restaurants that Rick Steve’s recommended. We had our own spacious room with a writing desk, two additional sitting chairs (I like to sit and read at night). The price was very good (better than anything else we found) since it even included a very nice breakfast laid out in their dining room. We also enjoyed the private flowered courtyard where we sat and enjoyed wine one evening. If we ever stay in Chinon again, we will absolutely stay here. ...
